The Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch of Channing, Texas got its start in the 1950’s when it was purchased by R. H. Fulton and his son Joe Kirk Fulton. It was a cattle ranch. Under the direction of Joe Kirk Fulton, the ranch became a beacon of success in the Quarter Horse industry. The ranch was first developed as a performance horse breeding and showing program that showed and stood a stallion named Aledo Bar, the 1959 AQHA High Point Halter Stallion.

The fifth trial of the card produced the fastest qualifier when Trump My Record returned to the winner’s circle with an impressive gate-to-wire victory under rider Eddie Sanchez, covering 330 yards in :16.566 seconds. The track was fast and he earned a 103 speed index assisted by a 10 mph tail wind.

Dr. Ed Allred’s homebred He Looks Hot has had a tremendous career, and it hit a peak in his 7-year-old season when he was voted the 2019 World Champion Racing American Quarter Horse.
He also earned the title of champion aged horse and champion aged gelding after a season that saw him win five of 10 starts and earn $420,036. As a freshman, He Looks Hot won the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1). The highly-touted Trump My Record appeared to have all chances at qualifying for the final of the Grade 2, $248,000 Heritage Place Derby destroyed at the beginning of his trial. However, he still had the bulk of the 400-yard distance for the rest of the story.
Trump My Record broke dead last in his trial, the first of five on Sunday night at Remington Park, and trailed the field for the first half of the 400-yard race. Like a rocket turning on its afterburners, he altered his path around another rival. Finding a sliver of space, jockey James Flores he steered the talented gelding to victory, passing all of his foes in a flash.
HOTSEMPTING LEADS THE FIELD INTO THE RUIDOSO DERBY
RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM – MAY 24, 2020 – Under a blue sky with a slight headwind, it was a filly named Hotsempting that blazed a trail to the wire in 19.945 and led the field of 10 qualifiers who will vie for the top prize in the Ruidoso Derby. The finals for the $750,000 GI Ruidoso Derby for 3-year-olds will be held on June 6th at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.
Hotsempting, a Texas-bred graduate of the Ruidoso Yearling Sale, is owned by Miguel Gallegos and Mauricio Gallegos and is trained by Sergio Ibarra. Today, jockey Esgar Ramirez rode Hotsempting to a dominant win over the rest of the field.
